Bali Starling Jalak Putih Bird

The Bali starling is the most beautiful of all the mynahs. It is a thick-set, starling-sized bird with snow white plumage and an elegant long white crest.

The bare skin on the face is bright blue, finishing in a point at the sides of the neck. The tip of its broad tail and the tips of the flight feathers are black, and the beak, feet and legs are bluish-grey.

Bali starlings forage in open forest and grasslands searching for fruits and insects. Water is often hard to find in such places, so juices from ripe fruits are especially important. They are active during the day.

In the wild Bali starlings live to five years, but in captivity they can still breed when they are over twelve years old.

Three or four eggs are laid in a nest of twigs in a hollow, often an old woodpecker or barbet hole, or fork of a tree (in captivity a nest box is provided). The eggs are turquoise in colour and hatch after about 14 days; the chicks fledge in about three weeks. The young are mature at 2-3 years and may live for up to 15 years

Ulun Danu Temple Bali

When the mist of the mountain floating away with the wind, then a beautiful temple with it's tiered merus appear and reflected by mirror lake.

It is Ulun Danu Bratan Temple or the temple of the source of the lake Bratan.

This temple is located on a lake that fills the crater of ancient mount Bratan in Tabanan area, in the northwestern part of Bali, in an elevation of 1239 meter above sea level.

The weather is usually cool and fresh, bringing the calmness of nature closer and closer to the mind of whomever witnessing it.

The lake is so generous, giving life to many people in the surrounding area and down in the plains, by it's streams and springs.

This Ulun Danu temple is dedicated to the goddess of serene lake Bratan, as a manifestation of Brahman as Wisnu, the preserver.

Agung Mountain Bali

Volcanoes erupted and created Bali.

It's a nub in the Pacific Ocean, only 6000 square kilometers, yet fertile volcanic soil allows several rice harvests per year and supports a dense population, over 3 million people.

We rented a jeep and set out to find out what else lay beyond the surfing and seediness of Kuta.

Narrow roads, the island highways, wind through a lush landscape of hillsides covered by intricate rice terraces, swaying palms, and rioting vegetation.

Tall pillars, carved with Hindu motifs, mark the beginnings and ends of villages along the road.

The houses almost touch the ashpalt, red shingled eaves overhang the place where sidewalks would be if there were any; people, animals, and everything else uses the road as if they're pathways, nevermind the speeding vehicles that race and hoot as they pass. Life fights for space on this island, it's a full time job to secure breathing room.

Nusa Dua Beach Bali

Crystal clear water and stretches of white sandy beach of Nusa Dua makes Nusa Dua a perfect spot for luxurious resorts to which your exhausted bodies, after a Barong performance at Batubulan and a long climb of the steps of the Mother Temple Besakih, will want to rest.

Some of the most sumptuous and luxurious hotels in the world find their home in Nusa Dua Bali.

You can relax in the Thalasso spa of the Grand Mirage Resort after a day of surfing or diving.

Or you can tee off into the sunset, while watching the gentle waves come from the blue sea and caress the banks surrounding the luscious greens.

Tranquil swimming pools under the coconut trees seem to be one with the distant blue sea. Art galleries and numerous shops surround them.

The vista of the dramatic coastline and the rolling surf is spectacular, while the fiery sunsets viewed from here are the best in Bali.

Jimbaran Bay Beach of Bali

Jimbaran is a name of fishing village before 1980 was a nice white sandy beach facing Indian ocean and sun sets. The location is on a bay between the cape of Nusa Dua and airport Ngurah Rai.

Jimbaran is one of Bali’s most popular sea-side resorts. With its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, this beachside paradise is the perfect place for those who find the pace of life in nearby Kuta a little too strenuous.

Jimbaran is also a sleepy cove where fleets of fishing boats blush the panorama. With is perfectly shaped bay and its quit waters providing safe swimming, Jimbaran is an ideal location for family holidays.

Some of the region’s finest hotels have been built on Jimbaran’s sandy shores, including the awarding winning Four Seasons Resort, the Inter-Continental and the Pansea Puri Bali.

Jimbaran is also a popular spot for windsurfing and sailing small craft. You will find many boat on a local shop which are available for rent, the grey sand and calm waters are very attracting people, the beach still has a sleepy feeling.

On the western side of the hill, Bali's southern peninsula, lies the once sleepy fishing village of Jimbaran. Take a walk along the beach, and perhaps a sunset drink at one of the big hotels, which all welcome visitors.

An offshore reef offers protection from the wave action, providing excellent swimming waters. Jogging is widely the most popular sport in Jimbaran beach and is especially tempting in the covered glow of sunset (Jimbaran is also a popular spot for spectacular sunset).
