Taman Ayun Temple of Mengwi

Taman Ayun Temple was royal temple of Mengwi Kingdom who survived until 1891 when it was conquered by the neighboring kingdoms of Tabanan and Badung.

Constantly enriched and restored since it was founded in the seventeenth century, Taman ayun is the temple of the royal family of Mengwi.

Surrounded by a wide moat populated with waterlilies, it is accessed by a bridge, then we must take a monumental door that gives access to a peaceful garden.

The most remarkable is that dedicated to Mount Agung with its 11 roofs (as many as possible so the most holy).

Other merus are dedicated to Mount Batur, to the goddess Sri (goddess of rice) or ancestral gods of the Majapahit kingdom (which colonisa Bali in the fourteenth century) ... Many pavilions, or ceremonial practices are scattered throughout the sacred temple. Although tourism.

The Taman Sayun is a pleasant place to visit, where the calm of the elements, the balance and architectural space incite meditation
